One eBay 'Buy it Now" auction = eight email messages

I purchased something today on eBay using the Buy it Now (BiN) feature. It's something I wanted to get my brother. Instead of waiting for the auction to come to a close on a predetermined day set by the eBay Seller, I just agreed to buy the item immediately.

I've since received eight (8) different email messages pertaining to this item.

  1. A message from eBay telling me I won.
  2. A message from PayPal telling me that my payment was received.
  3. A message from the Seller telling me that I won the item (see #2).
  4. A message from the Seller thanking me for my payment.
  5. A message from the Seller announcing that my item is being prepared for shipment.
  6. A message from the Seller once again thanking me for bidding on the item.
  7. A message from PayPal informing me that my item will be shipped via U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail®.
  8. A message from the Seller informing me that my item was shipped.
I have to admit that I don't use eBay all that much anymore. It's stuff like this that makes me want to avoid eBay like the bubonic plague. I tried to buy the item from somewhere other then eBay, but I couldn't find it anywhere other then eBay.

EBay used to be a good place to find stuff. Now it's just a major pain in the ass.
